DAY #64 OF 365 | Monday, March 3rd, 2024

YESTERDAY’S RECAP

If you missed yesterday’s AMPLIFY DAILY, I walked through the logic and process for why and how to create “consequential offers” in your business.

Humans are inherently line pushers…

We want and need to know what our boundaries are to get an understanding of our environment.

In order to understand those boundaries, we push…

And many times we’re doing so on an unconscious level.

Gratitude At All Times.

CATEGORY: CEO Level Insights

In today’s video, I’m walking you through the simple, 6 word acronym that anchors me and gives me guidance in some of my toughest moments…

And gives me access to stay in a mental space of gratitude…

In the face of really challenging times.

Accurate Thinking…

I don’t believe in “right” or “wrong.”

I don’t believe in “good” and “bad.”

I don’t believe in “positive” and “negative.”

All man made concepts that we’ve created in our attempt to make sense of our experience of and in this world.

What is “positive” thinking?

What is “negative” thinking?

It is just a description of the experiences and emotions we have in that moment that accompany those thoughts…

And whether or not they generally FEEL aligned with past experiences and emotions we generally accept…

In our culture, or in our individual lived experience as “good” or “bad.”

But in objective reality, thinking is electricity…

With that thought ENERGY vibrating at a particular frequency in any given moment.

In objective reality, is there a such thing as “positive” or “negative” thinking…or is there simply THINKING?

How can two seemingly dueling “truths” exist at the same time?

The fundamental challenge of believing in a higher power (God, the universe, whatever you want to call it)…

While still believing in “good” “bad” “right” “wrong” etc is that you then are predictably forced into a “moral” dilemma…

How could a “good” or “pure” God let such things happen?

The logical conclusion then becomes “well that must mean there’s no God…because how can I believe in this all knowing, perfect, GOOD being who allows so much “bad?”

Ummm…what does any of this have to do with BUSINESS?

I’m glad you asked.

Being able to quickly separate useful facts from useless “information” is a core skill set of high performing business leaders.

What I’ve found is that by becoming someone who thinks freely and evaluates things from all sides, neutrally, before coming to conclusions…

Even when I am emotionally invested in one perspective more than another…

I am able to see problems, solutions, and the contributing factors and consideration sets for each with more clarity than many of my contemporaries…

Because I have a deeply practiced and cultivated skill set of seeing “what is” with no bias or assumption…

Instead of what I “believe” things to be, wish they would be, think they “should” be, etc…

And not only does that give me an advantage…

It allows me to quite literally see opportunities hiding in plain view that others are blind to.

Now back to the moral dilemma I framed above…

Belief in morality is a moving target. Let me explain…

We’re in the middle of a parade in a jam packed street…

Someone calmly walks right up to another person and does great bodily harm to them without saying a word…

Unprovoked in that moment, devoid of any emotion, for all to see…

To everyone watching, that person is a psychopath, a monster.

Now take the same exact situation again…

It happens the exact same way, but when asked why they did it…

The person reveals that they had been tracking this person for months…

In multiple parades just like this one, across the country, this person had done HEINOUS things to dozens of children…

Right before doing great bodily harm to them, and one of them was their child…

The perpetrator had been arrested multiple times for the crimes…

But each time, they got right out of jail, because they are rich, powerful and connected…

So they just keep doing heinous things to kids at parades and doing great bodily harm to them.

Lines get blurry now…

Same act, but the context of the act would have some people even call the person who did great bodily harm on the child predator a hero…

And at the very minimum, probably wouldn’t have any judgment for what he had done to that man.

Morality is a badge we stamp on actions to approve them as “good” or “bad” when it’s convenient and fits nicely with OUR view of the world. There is no consensus.

Morality is a moving target.

A simple acronym for living…

So what’s the answer? How do you believe in a higher power…

AND simultaneously live a life that is not rooted in the man made definitions of things that people use to justify their behavior or condemn the behaviors of those with whom they don’t agree?

I live by a simple acronym – EWIMBI.

Everything Works In My Best Interest.

It’s FAITH in action.

I choose to live from the perspective that in all ways, God is conspiring for my greatest good at all times, even if it doesn’t FEEL good…

Even when I don’t “like” the outcomes.

When living from that perspective, there is no such thing as a “bad” thing happening to me…

There’s only what’s happening, and what there is for me to learn from it.

A powerful relationship to the current reality gives you clarity in what to create, and how.

Sometimes, I don’t enjoy it when I’m in a season of learning things that don’t “feel” good…

But I never count it as “bad.” It’s just what’s happening.

That clarity, and that belief that it’s all happening as part of the plan for my greater good keeps me focused…

Keeps my mindset pristine…

And helps me see opportunities in the midst of challenges that others do not…

Because they are lamenting “what’s not”…

instead of clearly seeing “what is” objectively, calmly, factually, and identifying a way through it…

Instead of debating with reality to try to force an outcome.

I live this EVERY SINGLE DAY, no matter what happens to me or around me.

I don’t ask “why me?”

I simply accept that whatever is happening in my life, there is a reason and a design for a reason…

And I’m able to lean into a space of gratitude for all that is (and isn’t)…

No matter how painful, uncomfortable, devastating, or enjoyable that season of experiences and lessons may be.
