In today’s video, I share a simple hack that’s worked for me to increase audience engagement and email open rates.

I shared that I think of sales cycle planning in the context of how a master event planner might approach the promotion and production of their flagship live event…

And how an attraction-based sales framework shortens sales cycles, closes more qualified customers, and allows you to work less hours in the process…

By meticulously planning out your sales cycle in 3 stages, just like you would any event:

1) Pre-event, 2) During event, 3) Post-event

In January 2022, we totally changed our brand name and program focus…

In today’s video, I share a simple hack that I’ve found for consistently engaging with my email list weekly and increasing email open rates.

This will be one of the simpler hacks that I share.

Up until 2022, our Property Preservation Mastery course was our primary offer, and it was the name of the brand…

But in January of 2022, we transitioned the brand name to Mindset To Money…

And our new Mindset To Money membership became the flagship brand…

While the Property Preservation Mastery course and brand became just ONE course highlighted by M2M…

But was no longer was our “flagship” offering, even though the lion’s share of our 50,000+ person email list was from PPM.

We accidentally stopped emailing our subscriber list for almost 1.5 years…

While aligned in the big picture, Mindset To Money was a totally different offer, a different narrative…

And potentially a totally different customer avatar than the Property Preservation Mastery customer…

While we were figuring out the nuances of the core narrative, the branding, the messaging, the visuals, the offer, etc…

We held off on emailing our audience for a bit, to avoid muddying the waters and causing confusion with our core audience wondering what this Mindset To Money thing was all about…

And perhaps removing themselves from the list since they didn’t sign up for that…

Because we didn’t yet have a narrative that we felt verbally and visually clearly showed how M2M and PPM were now all under the new brand, separate but aligned.

Months turned into a year and a half of barely emailing our audience at all.

In the past, we’d used our email list to generate close to $100K in just hours…

When we finally got to the point where the M2M brand was visually mature and the narratives and offers were clear…

Our email open rates had plummeted from between 30-40% to close to single digits at times.

This was a big deal, because our email list had been a cash cow…

And we’d used it to generate close to $100K in a day on multiple occasions in previous years…

So having 75% fewer people opening those emails was a BIG deal.

Our email open rates had plummeted from 30%+ to under 10% at times, nothing worked…

After trying a number of things that made no difference…

I simply began sending out a quick update video every single Friday, called my weekly CEO update.

In it, I share 1 thing I’m thinking personally or professionally, and 1 thing that Mindset To Money is currently doing or working on…

It’s just a simple, transparent little video on Loom.com that is not produced, no special lighting or studio…

I just shoot it wherever I’m at, whether I’m traveling, or on my cell phone, doesn’t matter.

Turns out a little good old fashioned human connection is all that was needed…

I’m now 4 months in on sending my weekly CEO update, and I’ve watched our email open rates climb back up above 30% pretty consistently…

And on some sends, we have seen open rates of close to 50%.

The primary thing that we’ve done differently is sending this one simple email and video to the audience every single week…

And it has created a different level of human connection and transparency between me and the people on my email list.
