YESTERDAY’S RECAP
If you missed yesterday’s AMPLIFY DAILY, I walked through an update on the event activation I decided to coordinate from my living room, at SXSW in Austin, TX in less than 24 hours!
If I was going to try to host this by myself, it would have crashed and burned immediately…
Harold Hughes from Black@ Labs was my ears on the ground.

CATEGORY: Attraction-Based Marketing Techniques
In today’s video, I’m walking you through the final update on the event I hosted today at SXSW, with a promotional window that actually ended up being less than 12 hours.
To recap, my team created a 1 page landing site for the event, and it was up and done in a few hours…
The event narrative stated that we would be looking to have approximately 40 spots open for the event…
I shared in my video yesterday that we ended up with pretty much 41 RSVPs…
Which I would expect to translate to approximately 20 attendees showing up on the low end…
And 30 attendees showing up on the high end.
My personal goal was if I could 25-30 attendees, this event would be exactly what I’d hoped for…
And my metric was 20-25 attendees would be just ok…
But less than 20 attendees would be below expectations.
The event ended up being fantastic, and I ended up with somewhere between 25-30 attendees…
And the greater majority of them were people who I’d never met, so I also got the opportunity to expand my network.
I’m glad I got to share this with you, so you can see what it looks like to market an event inside of an “attraction-based” narrative.
A few candids from the day. Enjoy!
